Terms of use
Version 2026-10-19.1
1. What Sharido is
Sharido is a coordination tool. It helps members who are travelling between the same places at the same time find each other, so they can share a vehicle that they hire themselves.
2. What Sharido is not
- We do not provide transport, own or operate vehicles, or employ, engage or onboard drivers.
- We do not set, suggest or collect fares. Any fare shown is an estimate typed in by a member, used only to show each person's share.
- We do not handle money. You pay the driver directly and settle shares between yourselves. Any UPI payment you make goes directly from you to another member.
- We are not an emergency service. In danger, call 112.
When you hire a vehicle, your arrangement is with its driver or operator, not with us.
3. Who can use it
- You must be 18 or older.
- You sign in with a Google account you are entitled to use. One account per person; do not share it or create another.
- Anyone 18 or older may join. Members are verified as students when they sign in with, or link, an account issued by a participating college, or when we approve a student ID card they upload. Everyone else is unverified, and this is shown to other members.
- Organisers choose who can join their trip: verified students, their own college only, or anyone. Women-only trips are for verified women.
4. Your responsibilities
- Give accurate trip details and keep them up to date. If your plans change, leave or cancel promptly so others can make other arrangements.
- Follow the Community guidelines.
- Use other members' phone numbers and UPI IDs only to coordinate the trip you share.
- If you book seats for friends, you are responsible for them on the trip, you settle their share, and each of them must be 18 or older. Book only the seats you will fill.
- Make your own judgement about whether to travel with someone, and about the vehicle you hire.
5. Service fee
Our service fee is 18% of each member's share of the fare, for each confirmed place on a trip. It is a fee for the matching service; it is not part of the fare, which you pay the driver directly.
Early Bird: the service fee is waived in full until 31 July 2027. Until then nothing is charged, and the app shows the fee you would have paid so you can see the saving. We record each waived fee.
We will tell you at least 30 days before the waiver ends. Nothing will be charged without your clear agreement at that time, the price will be shown before you confirm a trip and will not change after, and stopping will be as easy as starting.
6. Reports, suspension and appeals
We may limit, suspend or close an account, or remove a trip, to protect members or when these terms or the guidelines are broken. A report alone does not lead to action: a person reviews it first. If action is taken against your account you can ask us to review it by writing to minhajaliit@gmail.com.
7. Maps
Place search and maps use data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database License. Map data can be incomplete or out of date. Distances and "on your way" in Sharido are straight-line estimates, not routes: check the way with your group and the driver.
8. Availability and liability
We work to keep the service running but cannot promise it will always be available or that you will find a group. We are not responsible for the conduct of members or drivers, for the vehicle, or for any journey, to the extent the law allows. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 or other law that cannot be limited.
9. Changes
If we change these terms materially we will ask you to accept the new version before you continue.
